When is the best time to visit Tibet? Though summer is widely regarded as the best time to travel to Tibet, some travelers prefer to travel to Tibet in autumn when the landscape of Tibet is most colorful. While some tourists love to go to Tibet in winter which is the best time to experience Tibetan pilgrimsí religious life.

Most Ideal Weather to Visit Tibet in a Year - Summer & Autumn

Thus, it is not suitable to do a trek in Tibet in winter.

Many people may think that rainy season should be avoided to trek in Tibet. In fact, rather rainy season is the best time for trek, as the weather is mild and the ground in mountain valleys turn green and alpine flowers bloom in profusion. And the best time to trek in Tibet is in spring and autumn, when itís not too cloudy and not so rainy but it is bit cold in spring.

Best Time to visit Mt. Everest in Tibet

In general, the best time to visit Mt. Everest in Tibet would be Apr, May, Sept, Oct, Nov, which roughly overlaps spring and autumn. From Mid-June to August, itís the rainy season largely affected by the monsoon. If you prefer trekking, do visit Mt. Everest from Mid-September to May. For mountaineers, April to May and Sept. to Nov are the prime time for mountaineering in Everest on Tibetís side. Geographically, the view of Mt. Everest on Tibetís side is superior to Nepalís side, since there is no visual obstruction of neighboring mountains. Tourists can easily enjoy the top 5 soaring mountains ,i.e. Makalu (8463m), Lhotse(8516m), Mt. Everest (8844.43m) and Cho Oyu (8201m) andShishapangma(8012m), along imposing Himalayas at famous Gawu La Pass(5198m) in Tingri, Shigatse.
