Step 2: Baggage Claim

Find the baggage claim which is marked with your flight number and origin. The displays alternate between Chinese and English.

Get Chinese RMB cash from ATMs around. ATMs are operated by HSBC Bank and other Chinese banks. You can use your ATM card or credit card to withdraw Chinese cash.

Step 3: Exit

There is only one exit to leave the arrival hall after you finish the above (Exit gate #9). You'll see many people are waiting for their guests to arrive.

Exit from this gate and see shuttle counter outside.

Step 4A: Take a shuttle

Route 3: This goes to Beijing New Dragon Hostel, East Morning Sun Youth Hostel and most of the Beijing economy hotels in downtown we recommend.

Operating time: 07:30-22:00, 7days/week. The interval is 30 minutes.

Route: Beijing International Airport --> San Yuan Bridge --> Liang Ma Bridge --> Hu Jia Lou --> Guo Mao Bridge --> West Gate of Beijing International Hotel  --> Beijing Railway Station

*At the railway station, take a taxi and it'll be another five minutes to the hostels or hotels. Please show taxi driver the Chinese characters of hostel or hotel name. Print them out of your reservation confirmation email we send you.

Route 2: This goes to Beijing Guantong Hotel at Xidan.

Route:  Beijing International Airport -->Sanyuanqiao --> Dongzhimen --> Dongsishitiao Bridge --> Xidan (Civil AviationBuilding) at Chang'an Street
First bus: 7:00, Final bus: Till the last flight

*At Chang'an Street, take a taxi and it will be another five minutes to Guantong via Tian'anmen Square. Please show taxi driver the Chinese characters of hostel or hotel name. Print them out of your reservation confirmation email we send you.

Buses are lined up 200 feet away out of Exit 9.

You take either Route 2 or Route 3.

Make sure you get on the right route.

Route 3: This departs from Beijing Railway Station.

Operating time: 06:00-19:30, 7days/week. The interval is 30 minutes.

Route: Beijing Railway Station - West Gate of Beijing International Hotel --- Southern Airlines Hotel ---Jing Xin Plaza --- Beijing International Airport

Route 2: This departs from Xidan Civil Aviation Building.

Route:  Xidan (Civil AviationBuilding) at Chang'an Street --> Dongsishitiao Bridge --> Dongzhimen --> Sanyuanqiao --> Beijing International Airport
First bus: 7:00; Final bus: 21:00. Price: RMB 16.00/person ($2)  
 
 

 Step 4B: Take a taxi

We also recommend you to take a taxi, which is the easiest way to get out of the airport and save time.

Taxi is cheap in China at only 25 cents/km or 40 cents/mile. From the airport to hostels, it shall cost you about $15 or 120 RMB.
So, simply take a taxi and it's about 30-40 minutes drive. Save your hassle!

Beijing's taxi cabs are pained in double colors of green and yellow. Most of them use Hyundai and Volkswagen Jetta.
